Artist statement
Looking at good art makes us forget about everything around us, even if it's just for a few moments. It's a wonderful experience in a world that constantly tries to capture our attention.
I usually start a painting with no preconceived idea in mind. It is this uncertainty that interests me. Letting me be guided by my intuition and emotions is the best way I found to bring a painting alive and to evoke emotion in the viewer's mind. Abstract art is all about emotion. Instead of asking the question ‘what does it mean?’, I invite the observer to ask himself ‘how does it make you feel?’. The beauty of abstract art lies in the fact that everybody will feel something else due to the subjectivity of emotion.
Although I always try to create something unique, I am certainly influenced by other artists' work. I admire the American postwar expressionist movement for its pure expression of emotion, the Renaissance paintings for mastering composition and light.

About me
I grew up in Switzerland where I studied law at the University of Zurich. While enjoying the studies, I regularly had to let off the built up creative energy by painting. While completing my second master degree in Barcelona, I fell in love with the city and decided to stay. Barcelona has it all, the food, the architecture, the mountains, the coasts, the people, and ultimately its soul which inspires me every day and fuels me with energy.
In the years to come I had the chance to live in such beautiful cities as Paris, Venice before finally returning to Barcelona for good. With the change of home came also my decision to stop working as a lawyer and to start working full time as an artist.
